Kite Surfers Paradise
Tarifa is a small town in the province of Cádiz, Andalusia, on the southernmost coast of Spain. The town is located on the Costa de la Luz ("coast of light") and across the Straits of Gibraltar facing Morocco. Because of its location, right at the Strait of Gibraltar and the ever blowing winds, its the place-to-be for kite surfers.

Dutch Advertising Agency Honderd5 (http://105nl.com/) asked Dutch Freelance Designer Michiel Nagtegaal to design a community website for kite surfers coming to and enjoying their holidays at Tarifa.

Design Brief
Michiel was given 'carte blanche' while designing the website pages. Even a logo was needed. The only important restriction was that the backend of the site was based on a framework especially made for community websites, so the design needed to be very flexible and make it easy to pull all kinds of content from the framework.

Art Direction
Kite Surfing is considered an Extreme Sport so most of the proposals showed a visual language which is dynamic and rough, full of very rich colors and ofcourse with some inspiring photography. The target group has an open mind and appriciates a sense of humor. So everything was possible and that made this a dream project for any creative designer.
