    OEM Motorparts
Designia (Michiel Nagtegaal) was asked by Rotterdam (Netherlands) based Magento Webshop Specialist Synocom to deliver an appealing design for a webshop. This Dutch webshop, OEM Motorparts, sells motorcycle parts of a wide range of motorcycle brands.

Aprilia, Beta, Cagiva, Derbi, Gilera, Honda, Kawasaki, Peugeot, Piaggio, Rieju, Suzuki, Sym, Tomos, Vespa, Yamaha are some the motorcycle brands OEM sells online.

Extensive productrange gives an expert feel
This wide range of products was also one of the issues to be addressed by the interaction design. The 'old' webshop consisted of long lists with textual specifications. Not something a person without specific product knowledge would describe as a good user experience but clients liked it. A major advantage of this extensive database of expert knowledge is that it labels OEM Motorparts as The Expert on motorcycles. Driving like-minded customers to the webshop.

    Art Direction and Design
One of the main design goals was to give the webshop more a shop and magazine feel. To achieve this Designia came with the concept of a motorcycle garage. It combined an empty but grungy photo of a garage with some beautiful imagery of motorcycles. Designia added some orange stripes to make the visual less static.

Designia chose large, extra bold typography with little spacing to emphasize the masculine look and feel of the webshop. This typography combined with the black, dark blue and orange color scheme, the transparent panels and the motorcycle imagery created a webshop worth mentioning.
